Hey, Y'all! Valerie (LaLa) here :) I've been surrounded by Creatives my whole life. My mom is an artist, my grandmother was a seamstress, Granny was a baker, a knitter, a shop owner...and my Aunt Hope is the crocheter. She makes these beautiful afghans for people and they always come with a message about the person. Growing up, I always loved seeing the look of joy, tears, hope, and love on the face of the afghan recipient. As a kid, I used to think "I want be able to create something that puts a smile on someone's face."

After failed attempts of trying to draw like my mom and crocheting like my aunt, I tried cooking/baking like Granny and found that I was good at it! I found joy in seeing the smile on people's face when they ate my food. Even still, I didn't consider myself "creative". It wasn't until many years, many DIY projects, planned events, and meals later, that it clicked one day. I AM CREATIVE! Once I realized that MY creative does not nor is it required to look like others, I was able to embrace MY creativeness in MY time.

In 2021, I randomly got the urge to crochet a blanket and hopped on YouTube and found a tutorial. From there, my love and self-teaching of crochet was ignited. The same emotion that I once saw on the faces of Aunt Hope's afghan recipients, I now get the honor of seeing as people receive my creations and they "Get Looped in Love!"
